Back to the Netherlands
I've accepted a post as Associate Legal Officer (read: low man on the totem pole) at the ICTY, so we're headed back to The Hague. I start there in August.
If I went before as an American stranger navigating my way through the jungles of the formidable UN and Dutch bureaucracies, I return a wizened veteran of campaigns with landlords, human resources officers and the dreaded KPN. It's a good thing I paid off my contract there, rather than just skip the country (as more than one KPN worker suggested last July).
I leave my job here with sadness. I still think it's the best legal job in Seattle. But the time has come for a change of address.
Onward!
